A Lullaby Poem*
By: Kinshasa
Sweet darling, you worry too much, my child.
See the sadness in your eyes.
What quiet, whispered worries lay sleeping on your heart?
Your eyes, once so bright
And scintillant in the summer sun,
Are now dull, distant reflections of a darkly clouded sky.
Tell me, I will listen sweet darling.
For I am your mother, and you my child.
Do not worry,
Do not cry.
Your darkest secrets are safe with me.
May you unburden your heart, my child,
And be free…
*Note that the first two lines are lyrics from the Within Temptation song, "Our Farewell".
